NEWS FLASH FOR 2009!
FOR AIR IVANHOE CUSTOMERS!

At this time we have purchased part of John Theriault Air’s cabins.  We have signed an agreement for the following cabins:  Biggs & Spearmint, Schewabic, Rice, Bonar & Riverside.

This was all we could afford with the economy the way it is. We have talked to John and he is going to put the other camps to sleep for 2009 and if things pick up we will look at 2010 for some of the other cabins.

There is a New price list for 2009 on the website. You will notice there was a price increase. In 2008 we had the option as per our brochure, to add a fuel surcharge, and we did not take advantage of this. Because we did not wish to charge that “fuel” surcharge we operated in 2008 at a slight loss.  For 2009 the government has promised to charge us a 600% increase on our lease fees and an additional increase in our land taxes.  This in addition to higher energy, and fuel costs made it mandatory for a price increase.  Still we have left many of our fly-in vacations in the $750 per person range.  We think that any fly-in vacation for $100 dollars per day (per person) including a boat motor, and fuel and that only leaves $50 to cover the cost of the aircraft, labor, repairs and maintenance and new taxes from the government!  Well you get the idea we have kept our prices low so you can still enjoy a wonderful wilderness get away!

Our 2009 pricing changed to charge more for the lakes that actually cost us more to operate.  These were the bigger lakes that burned more fuel for outboards, and generators. The aircraft fuel costs were a factor in all of the camp prices going up.  In 2008 we experienced a $30,000 increase in our total fuel costs.  And unfortunately by the end of the season we did not see a price drop in our aircraft fuel.

From the five cabins that we purchased, two cabins, Riverside on the Nemegosenda River & Bonar South have a water system but no generator and they are slightly higher than the bush outpost cabins, and Riverside is slightly higher because of the larger body of water.  Biggs Lake & Schewabic are in line with our Bush outpost cabins. Rice North is set higher to cover higher fuel costs.

Schewabic Lake: Nice setting on a beach with a large Lake/River System. The waterway offers great Walleye, Northern Pike & Smallmouth Bass fishing. Great choice for 4-8 fisher persons. It is a 2 Bedroom bush outpost with a large screened porch.

Biggs Lake: The cabin is located on an island, it is a one bedroom cabin with a large screened porch. It offers trophy Northern Pike with some great Walleye fishing. It is offered with two outlying lakes and one of the lakes, called Spearmint has a cabin on it for your use. Very rocky, and picturesque lake.

Rice Lake North: We have been fishing Rice Lake for years, and the lake has been consistent for Walleye fishing. This is a great choice for smaller parties since our larger cabin at the south end of Rice is a minimum 8 persons.
If you have a large group you could accommodate 18 guests if you rent both of our Rice Lake cabins.

Bonar South Cabin: A unique setting, located 10’ from the waters edge. A three room cabin with a large screened porch overlooking a lovely sandy beach. If you have a large group you could accommodate 20 fishermen using both of our Bonar cabins.

Riverside on the Nemegosenda Riverway offers the advantage of being near two seldom fished areas Grassy and Alcorn Lakes.  Walleye, Northerns, and 12 miles away from the opening of the lake into the river.  The cabin is a Deluxe cottage, with two bedrooms and a screened in porch.
Best Regards & Good Fishing!

FOR OUR US CUSTOMERS

This is the year that you will require a PASSPORT if you are driving into Canada, so start the process as soon as possible. CLICK HERE FOR PASSPORT INFORMATION

US Currency has gained ground in the last 2 months to the Canadian Dollar. Traditionally there is more fluctuation in the exchange rate in the summer, so if there is a concern then either prepay over the winter for the entire trip, or at least put a larger deposit on your trip. For deposits we accept all major cards for deposits, but we recommend for US guests to pay with a check. We will give you the best rate for the deposit, and most times it is better than what our bank will offer us.

FROM 2008

We are reopened Arbeesee Lake that has been resting for 2 years and we expect to see dynamic Pike fishing with the odd monster. We will plan on building docks on both sides as soon as we can in 2008. Katagi had a dock extension plus a new dock built in 2007.

Our drive-inn lodge on Ivanhoe Lake is called the Ivanhoe River Inn. This vertical log building is our seaplane base and the check in headquarters, offering fishing licenses, bait, ice, tackle, great gifts, outfitting store, art gallery, overnight accommodations, and great food Thursday through Sunday. The Ivanhoe River Inn also offers daily accommodations, and housekeeping plan packages to fish the 25 mile long Ivanhoe Lake waterway for excellent Northern Pike, Walleye & Jumbo Perch.

Our three Boat Inn Outpost Cabins on the Ivanhoe waterway are being offered at a Bargain Price. We feature NEW 15 Horsepower Yamaha engines on 16’ and 14’ Lund boats and include 1 Boat & Motor Combination with each package. Additional Boats & Motors can be rented or you can bring your own. Most of our repeat Boat-Inn Guests rave about its wildlife and superb fishing!.

The fly-inn lodge Nemegosenda Lake Lodge will be offering 3, 4, or 7 day American Plan Packages, and a very up scale Housekeeping Package for 4 or 7 days. 2008 was a dynamic fishing year with plenty of larger Walleye caught.

Clear waters, blue skies with low humidity, moderate temperatures, wilderness, and lots and lots of great fishing! And even better lots of GREAT CATCHING! REEL FUN! REEL ADVENTURES!

As North America is surrounded in festive colors of red and green, we are celebrating the thoughts of Go Green! Go Blue! (Not Football colors) but the colors of nature. Green trees, blue water, blue skies, so live a lot, and please come join us in the 2009 “GREAT OUTDOOR SEASON”

DEAR GUESTS

We continue to express our deepest gratitude to all who have flown with us! Your experience is our motivating factor in running this business, because working 16+ hour days is not the most enjoyable way to live some days, but hearing from you on how much fun you had and your expression of fishing satisfaction is not only motivating but satisfying to us as well.

We might not get the chance to talk a lot with you on Friday, Saturday or Sunday mornings with all the craziness going on, but it's because we want to get you all to where it is that you came here for, your cabin and your lake and hopefully a great week of fishing.
